Design Engineer, Car Seats - Juvenile Products Industry at Iron Mountains, LLC, Morgantown, PA
Iron Mountains, LLC is a design and engineering company located in southeastern Pennsylvania. We focus exclusively on products for infants and toddlers such as car seats, strollers, swings and high chairs. We have an informal, small company feel and promote an energetic, fast paced and fun product development atmosphere. Our focus is to create consumer oriented products through excellent engineering and styling that are safe, cost effective and create a demand in the market.
The use of various solid modeling and engineering/simulation software tools are integrated with our hands on approach to product design. Our fully equipped model shop, along with in-house rapid prototyping capability, allows us to build and test our ideas.
We have a new opening in our car seat development team for a Design Engineer. We are looking for someone who is:
- mechanically gifted, “hands on"
- excellent with troubleshooting and has strong analytical skills (using data from product testing)
- creative and capable of bringing innovative ideation to the team supported by a logical approach to problem solving
- able to analyze crash data and apply it to implement tangible product design solutions
- able to learn and grow

Requirements
- minimum 3 - 5 years experience
- hands on experience with crash testing child restraint systems to the FMVSS 213 standard
- proficient in MS Excel – experience sorting and filtering large amounts of data for the purpose of identifying trends, graphing, and reporting.
- positive attitude and the ability to change priorities/shift direction quickly
- good interpersonal skills and works well in a team setting
- familiarity with and comfortable working in a model shop environment
- experience using 3D CAD software (our primary package is SolidWorks)
- interested in occasional overseas travel
- BSME, BID or equivalent degree
